Realizing Hades likes making deals, Hercules says that he will take Meg's place. Hades agrees to the deal, but once Hercules rescues Meg, his godhood is restored. He risked his life to save her, so he was once again a god and therefore could not stay in the river Styx.

Phil Island is where Herc trained, not having his first battle with real monsters. After training for 2 years, they set off to Thebes, to face real challenges.

He asked for his mortality back, so he and Meg could go back and live on Earth together. At the end, Pegasus and Meg butt heads, and the Muses start singing the song, "A Star is Born".
